Chardonnay

This newish release has rapidly become our best selling white wine in many markets. Since its first release 18 months ago, it has won 6 medals in wine shows around the world - including the Prestige Trophy at Citadelles du Vin. In June 2005 Decanter rated it NZ's Top Unoaked Chardonnay and one of NZ's Top 20 Fine White Wines (of any style).

Reserve Chardonnay
Overall style: A very crisp and clean white wine – Chablis like in style
Grape Clones: Mendoza, UCD 15 on rootstock: Schwartzman, 101-14
Tastes/Aromas: A bracingly clean and refreshing palate with a bouquet primarily of citrus. While a classic New World fruit-driven Chardonnay, it has unusually powerful (for NZ) mineral and creamy notes. Moderate alcohol (13.5%, depending on vintage) great length and a beautiful crisp acid base are hallmarks of this wine. We keep this wine dry (less than 2g/L) to best match food.
